Castor Oil & Honey Face Mask

Ingredients:

iAMA Castor Oil: 10 drops
Honey: 1 tablespoon

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl or pot combine your iAMA castor oil and honey. Mix the ingredients together until they are well-blended and you have a smooth, spreadable consistency.
  2. Cleanse your face and pat it dry.
  3. Using your fingers or a clean makeup brush, apply the castor oil and honey mask evenly over your face, avoiding the delicate eye area.
  4. Allow the mask to sit on your skin for 15-20 minutes. You may feel a slight tingling sensation, which is normal.
  5. Rinse the mask off with warm water, using a soft washcloth if needed to gently remove any remaining residue.
  6. Pat your skin dry and follow up with a couple of drops of iAMA castor oil

How Often?

Use this face mask 1-2 times per week for 4 weeks for glowing results.

Why it works:

  • The combination of castor oil and honey provides deeply nourishing and moisturizing benefits for the skin.
  • Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid and other beneficial fatty acids that  naturally improve skin hydration
  • Honey is a natural humectant that can soothe and soften the complexion.

For the geek in you:

  • The key properties of humectants include moisture attraction and retention
  • Humectants are hygroscopic, meaning they can draw water from the environment (the air) into the skin or hair. This helps to hydrate and plump up the skin/hair.
  • Humectants work to hold onto that absorbed moisture, preventing it from evaporating too quickly. This helps to maintain hydration levels.
