Castor Oil & Rosemary Hair Elixir

iAMA Castor Oil: 15 drops for long hair
Rosemary Essential Oil: 5 drops

  1. In a small bowl or container, mix the castor oil and rosemary essential oil together until well combined.
  2. Section your hair and apply the oil mixture to your scalp, massage it in using your fingertips.
  3. Distribute the remaining oil through the length of your hair, focusing on the ends.
  4. Cover your hair with a shower cap or towel and let the treatment sit for 30-45 minutes.
  5. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual. You may need to shampoo a few times to fully remove the oil.

How often?

Repeat this treatment 1-2 times per week for healthier, stronger hair.

    Why it works:

    • The combination of castor oil and rosemary essential oil can help nourish and strengthen both hair and lashes.
    • Castor oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins that can promote growth
    • Rosemary oil stimulates circulation and prevents hair loss.

    For the geek in you:

    • The ricinoleic acid in castor oil helps to reduce scalp inflammation and promotes a healthier environment for hair growth.
    • The fatty acids in castor oil are essential for the production of prostaglandins, which regulate the hair growth cycle.
    • Rosemary oil inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). High levels of DHT are linked to androgenetic alopecia (male/female baldness).
    • Rosmary oil contains carnosic acid which helps to reduce inflammation in the scalp, allowing the hair follicles to function more optimally.
